Canada day two - it's Sunday

Unable to tell left from right (from an early age and not ever righted over my 40 years) and now in the other hemisphere, unable to tell up from down. I have always believed that being a pedestrian makes you a better driver. I didn't wish to repeat the mildly terrifying drive from the airport (tired and travel weary, wrong side of the road and getting lost) in a hurry. So, our quick walk up to the local shopping mall took us a good three or so kilometers the wrong way along the pretty and interesting river.

Lessons learned for the day (as we are proving to be very poor tourists indeed).

1. Always bring the camera
2. Bring water and snacks
3. Don't listen to mum, unless she tells you not to bring a jersey....Logan!
4. Frappe is apparently not a French word and is pronounced Frap.
5. Walmart actually does sell everything.

One of the best places we visited was the New Media Gallery in New Westminster. It has amazing technologically based interactive-ish (don't TOUCH Jonty) artworks. Once the Exhibition has finished on October 1st you can see what we saw. If you can imagine filmed images of sparrows playing a piano.....it was amazing.

We were recommended to see this as we found a paddle steamer museum . Very helpful, very informative, very interesting. Living on a city with a river as a main highway isn't something we are used to in Auckland.

Sky Trains are cool. They went from where we didn't mean to go to the shopping mall we did mean to go to in less than 5 minutes of air conditioned comfort.

Introducing WOW BUTTER the peanut butter that is everything free including ... peanuts!

So OK we popped into Walmart for something to eat, then we saw wow butter it looked good  had a parenting award and was the only crunchy in the shop so we got it. when we tasted it it didn't taste like peanut butter then we checked the ingredients and it read peanut free then we figured out it came with safe for school stickers.what the HECK!!!

Looks can be deceiving......why is it next to the peanut butters looking like peanut butter..

After three kilometers mum realized that we were going the wrong way and finally she picked up maps so we could all check if we were going the right way next time LOL!!!

Walking into Walmart we (Me and Mum) noticed some Rainbow Sharpies and knowing my OCD-ness this is the sort of thing I need. I even found that they come in two different types of pen, Fine point and ultra-fine point. This is just perfect for me, you have no idea what is coming because of these pens. We actually need these because we only have one sharpie left.

There's not much for me to add, but I was very impressed by the art installations at the New Media Gallery. They formed a truly innovative collection combining traditional and computerised methods, and beautifully artistic engineering. There was a merge of both visual and musical components, some of which was computer-generated.

The museum is celebrating and bringing a real focus to STEAM.

In the City of New Westminster museum, we learnt about the influence of the city in British Columbia, and also that our very own Captain Cook is one of the pioneers of the region.

... also, in the market you can only buy feta cheese crumbled - not in blocks.
